This weekend my godson Tim and I spent some quality time together with Jake. We went to the Stoneham Zoo to see Santa and the Zoo lights. "Timmyisms make the world a better place!" It has been awhile since Tim shared his sage advice to the many readers of mighty-eric.com.. Without further ado below is the "latest" Timmyism!
"Happiness is like wetting your pants. Everyone can see it, but only you can feel it's warmth."

I dropped Jake and Sarah off at the library before work this morning. What an amazing place... I have not been in a library for 10 years or since college. I am fool... it has everything and IT IS FREE!
We are young family on a budget and this place has DVDs (all the latest), Video Games, Music, and Books/Magazines... all this stuff for you to borrow. Oh My... I am going to get a library card tomorrow. Free to look at anytime you want and you do not need to buy it. Does it get any better? Me thinks NOT!

I now view myself as a "floater" when in school as a kid. I remember doing Wordly Wise in 5 Grade and never thought it was useful. I can now say I was wrong ("in theory"). Education is so important - reading and math are fundamental! Not sure what got me thinking about this today, but being a Dad doesn't help. I want the best for Jake and that includes not being a "floater". Does this mean I think Jake should use Wordly Wise? Only time will tell.

A word to the wise is sufficient

Bill Russell
Bill Russell was sitting in first class on the plane ride home from Washington! It was so cool to say "hi" to a Basketball legend - Especially for my favorite team the Boston Celtics!

Just got back from a trip to Malaysia. It was a great time - see some facts below!
During the late 18th and 19th centuries, Great Britain established colonies and protectorates in the area of current Malaysia; these were occupied by Japan from 1942 to 1945. In 1948, the British-ruled territories on the Malay Peninsula formed the Federation of Malaya, which became independent in 1957. Malaysia was formed in 1963 when the former British colonies of Singapore and the East Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak on the northern coast of Borneo joined the Federation. The first several years of the country's history were marred by Indonesian efforts to control Malaysia, Philippine claims to Sabah, and Singapore's secession from the Federation in 1965.
I saw the world's largest building too!

With a height of 1,453 feet, one of the world's tallest buildings rise above the skyline of Kuala Lumpur. They are called the Petronas Towers, and, inevitably, they have become the symbols for the astounding growth that has taken place in Malaysia over the last two decades.

I am in Finland on Monday and Tuesday... "The colors of Finland's national flag with its blue cross on a white background symbolize the country: blue represents the thousands of lakes while white stands for snow, ice and the light summer nights. In terms of area, Finland is the seventh biggest country in Europe; 10 % of its surface is covered by water and 69 % by forests."

Solstice means - standing-still-sun!
Serveral cultures the world over perform solstice ceremonies. Ancient cultures built their greatest architectures -- tombs, temples, cairns and sacred observatories -- so that they aligned with the solstices and equinoxes. A fear that the failing light would never return unless humans intervened with anxious vigil or antic celebration.
